| The most common drum in Thai folk music is the Taphon which can be seen performed frequently in Bangkok and in Chiang Mai. It is often used to accompany the performances at Thai shrines to entertain the resident god in offering. Sawngna is bound similarly to the Taphon but is more similar to the Indian Mirdangam in shape. Home |
